Under the leadership of Pastor Elvin Harden, Oceana Christian School first opened its doors in the fall of 1986. Writing to the editor of the Oceana Herald-Journal he explained,

"We are desirous of providing an option to families which will enable them to place their children

in a quality educational environment where Bible principles can be taught

and where Jesus Christ is central."

Techniques and style have changed over time, but OCS continues to offer

a program of strong academics where the Word of God is foundational to everything we do!
