Oceana Christian School first opened its doors in the fall of 1986

with the goal of providing affordable, quality Christian education in our area.

The 2019-2020 year marks our 34th year of operation as

a ministry of Hart First Baptist Church.

Preschool: State-licensed kindergarten-readiness programs for 3 and 4 year olds.  Four year old preschool meets two full days per week ( there are two options, M/W or T/TH), and three year old preschool meets two half-days per week (Tuesday and Thursday). Students must be 4 years old by December 1st, and 3 year olds must be thirty-three months old before they are admitted.  Three year olds may join the program at any time throughout the school year if there is space. Preschool lasts for 34 weeks and class size is limited to 12 students.

Kindergarten: Meets four full days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Class size is limited to 14 students.

1st - 6th grades: Full academic program with some grades functioning as combined classes.

Specials of art, music, physical education, computers, band (6th only), and Spanish (1-6 only)

Grandparent’s Day: We celebrate grandparents in October by inviting them to spend the morning at school and share in a lunch with the students.

Christmas Program: Our music teacher directs a musical drama involving the entire school.

Band concerts and festivals: Students who wish to participate in band are driven to Hart High School for daily band classes. They take part in concerts and Band and Solo & Ensemble Festivals.

T, T, T Night: This is a fun family event!  It is in open house format, so that you may come and go as you please.  The whole family is invited to this talent, technology, and taco night at the beginning of May. Come enjoy a free taco meal, view our Art Fair and Science Fair, and sit down together with a Chromebook so that students can show off their computer skills.

Spanish Day: This is a special day of focusing on Spanish culture and experiencing Spanish food.

Graduation and Closing Program: Preschool has a closing ceremony in May.  Kindergarten & 6th grade Graduation/Closing program takes place in June. The entire school is involved.

 

DAILY ROUTINE

The school day is from 8:15 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.  

On half days it runs from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.


Bus transportation is available to those living in the Hart Public School District.
